WORD LIST

agenda- a list of items to be discussed at a formal meeting.

I use my agenda to write down my homework and projects.

agile- able to move quickly and easily.


The guitarist was very agile with his fingers, he didn't once mess up.
alienate- cause (someone) to feel isolated or estranged.

The student felt alienate at his new school, he didn't know anybody
altercation- a noisy argument or disagreement, especially in public.

The older woman was having an altercation with her husband because he lost his wallet at the restaurant. 

amiable- having or displaying a friendly and pleasant manner.

She had a very amiable manner in whatever she was asked to do.

amorous- showing, feeling, or relating to sexual desire

The wife was very amorous towards her husband.

animated- filled with life and spirit

The animated young lady invited her bestfriend to a jog around the park. 

equanimity- calmness or evenness of mind or spirit; even-temperedness 

The youngman kept his equanimity towards his bully who constantly called him names. 

inalienable- that which cannot be taken away or transferred to someone else

The citizen's rights were inalienable. 

inanimate- possessing neither life nor spirit; not alive

The young depressed student was inanimate at school and did poorly. 

magnanimous- showing a kind of nobleness of mind and spirit; high minded: free from pettiness

The peasant was magnanimous and very helpful. 

reactionary- (a person) characterized by ideas suggesting a desire to move backward, especially in matters related to politics
The girl was a very reactionary character.
