First Born Children
“What we find changes who we become.” -Peter Morville this statement communicates that external things may change/shape the person you will become.  Researches all over the world try to categorize people, they may be correct but they may also be incorrect.  The Birth Order Research in my case, being the oldest, does show accuracy, but some inaccuracy as well.
The Birth Order Research states that the oldest child is an achiever.  An example of that trait stated is I always get good grades.  I am an achiever because ever since I was little I was disciplined to get good grades.  I was taught that school must always be my main priority.  I have always managed to get into higher level classes since elementary, for example I was tested for GATE and passed.  In addition, I have passed all previous challenging classes with mostly A’s but in some cases a B.  I think I am an achiever because I have never gotten anything lower than a B in any of my classes.  Moreover, just like I think I am an achiever, every achiever has traits that might restrain them from certain goals.
The research gathered also states traits that are not positive, likewise the trait of being close-minded.  To illustrate, I am a close-minded person because I don't like being bossed around or viewing things from another person’s perspective.  I don't enjoy viewing things from other peoples perspective because I like things being done my way.  The fact that I am a close-minded person also leads to a good trait of being punctual.
In addition, another trait that the research has accurately portrayed id the trait recently discussed, the trait of punctuality.  I think I portray the trait of punctuality because I hate being late.  Furthermore, I depict the trait of punctuality because I always have to be at least ten minutes early wherever I need to go.  For example, if I am invited to a party and it starts at 4:00pm I have to go at least ten minutes earlier.  Similarly, an example of me being a punctual person is I get really enraged when people get in the way of me being punctual.  An example of that is back to a month ago when I had conditioning for Cross-Country and my dad was taking long and I got mad and I threw a fit until he hurried up, and fortunately I got to practice on time.  All these traits have been proven true except the trait of authority.  I don't think I like being in control, I get really stressed out, other than that all the traits were proven correct.
The Birth Order Research proved itself quite reliable and accurate stating I am an achiever, close-minded, punctual, science/medicine type of person.  However, the disclaimer was I do not enjoy being in authority.  I believe this research was very interesting because it did claim many of my personality traits, I found it reliable.  This research has changed my perception on how I am not the only one that has these personality traits.

Birth Order Traits

BOR Research and Evidence T-Chart

What the research says        Evidence showing accuracy or inaccuracy
Achiever
I am an achiever because ever since I was little I was disciplined to get good grades and that school should always be my main priority. I have always managed to get into higher level classes and passing them with mostly A's and in rare cases B's. In addition, I think I am an achiever because I have never gotten anything lower than a B in any of my classes.
Close-minded
I think I am a close-minded person because I don't like being bossed around or viewing things from other peoples perspective. I like things being done my way.
Punctual
I believe I am a very punctual person because I absolutely hate not being on time at places.
Careers: Science, Medicine
I agree with these being one of the careers I will enter because one of my favorite subjects besides English is Science. I love learning how things work and the formulas used. Therefore, I would like to study medicine.
Authority
I believe this does not pertain to me because I hate taking authority, it simply stresses me out and I can't handle it.

Reflections on Week One

Are there any factors that you think are going to affect your participation or experience in this class? Access to a computer?  Mobile/smart phone?  Transportation?  Friends/family? Schedule?
I don't think you will have any issue with my participation or experience in this class. First, because I do own a computer myself, I own an Ipod which I carry everywhere and the other questions don't pertain to me I believe.

Think of an awesome best ever learning experience that changed you. What did you learn? Where were you? What happened? Who else was there? Did it teach you anything about how you learn (or pay attention... or remember, or think?) How did you know what was happening?
The best learning experience I had that I believe changed me was when I went to Science Camp.  In Science Camp I learned many outdoor skills, the constellations, animal facts and many more things.  Science Camp took place in Rancho El Choro. While at the rancho we went hiking, we were able to be in the wilderness, saw creatures that perhaps we had never seen before and participated in many scavenger hunts.  At Science camp all the sixth grade classes were there including chaperons and our teachers.  I don't recall Science Camp teaching us how to learn, pay attention, remember, or think.  I knew what was going on at the time because I knew I had to listen in order to have the best experience and get something out of Science Camp. It was an amazing experience.

What are you most [excited/concerned] about in this class? What do you look forward to in learning?  How do you think it can/will make a practical difference in your life?
This year 2014-2015 some things that I am most excited about is learning new things that will help me later on in college in my major. Something that I am most concerned about this class is getting anything lower than an A since English has always been my subject. In addition, somethings that I look forward to learning in this class is how to become a better writer to strengthen my essays/writing.  I believe it will make a practical difference in my life because this class will allow me to learn how to write better essays, and essays are what you write in university's for finals.

Keep Moving Forward No Matter What

https://vine.co/v/M3ren2IKlAF

 My Six Words
"Keep moving forward no matter what." These six words are my motivation, those six words have never let me down because I feel as though I'm a stronger person than yesterday. I came up with these six words to put on my vine because everyone has struggles in their life and I felt as if though this pertained to maybe everyone and not just me. Each day is a new beginning and if you set your mind for failure you will not succeed. You should see the good in your mistakes because you will always learn from them. My belief is everyone deserves a second chance to prove themselves and move on with life. Life as we know it is infinite, and we should learn to go along with it, with its flaws, mistakes, and all until our departure.

Reflection: How School Kills Creativity

I believe school hasn't led me to the path of what I truly want to become.  I feel that school isn't fit for each and everyone of us but we are rather given all these standards that we need to fulfill.  If we don't attain them we are either given a bad grade or get held back. However, I don't dislike education I am rather fascinated by it but I wish that we could attend a school where there are people like ourselves.
