I think Roger pushed the rock off the cliff to stop the arguing and secretly meant to kill Piggy to get rid of the conch so nobody will be on Ralph's side.

The destruction of the conch is symbolically significant because without it there is no order whatsoever, everyone is a savage now.

6. For most of the boys, what are the reasons they want a chief? What does a chief do for them? Most of the boys want a chief to have someone to show them what to do, if they weren't to have one they wouldn't know what to do.

7. What has led you to become so savage to the point where killing someone doesn't matter to you?
Did your parents treat you cruelly so your taking out your anger on others is that why you don't want to be rescued?

8. I liked it here at the beginning I thought we'd be able to stick together and stay sane while the adults rescued us but it's been the complete opposite. Jack hates me and my followers. They have came to the point where they kill without mercy. I'm scared one night they'll come and kill me or anyone that's with me.
   They killed Piggy! The CONCH, PIGGY! They're gone, he's dead! I'm alone, there is no order, they're savages! I'm a savage. How is it possible, I cant believe this is actually happening. I won't be surprised if they kill me now, maybe its for the best.
